El Rey Productions is an independent film and television production company created to develop quality genre pictures as high art. Founded by partners Adam Hardman and David D. Ebert, El Rey was created as a filmmakers and writer’s salon for literary and script development.

Writer. Director. Producer. Cat owner.
Co-wrote and directed Fuck You or Dead Peeholes (NYC
International Fringe Festival’s Overall Excellence Award Winner).
Principal cast member in John Cameron Mitchell’s Shortbus (Cannes Film Festival Official Selection). Writer and Director of 3 feature films: Blood Money, The Lower Angels (NYC Horror Film Festival Official Selection), and YouChoose.
Most recently written, directed, and co-produced short tech-noir, thriller “The Loop: Undeniable” and upcoming horror short “Mysteries of the Desert.”
David Dean Ebert
Producer and Creative Director at El Rey Productions; David Dean Ebert is an award-winning motion picture and television production designer, writer, founding member of The Cause Plexus Arts Collective, and traveling artist.
Since 2004, David’s design shop in the Brooklyn Navy Yards has specialized in fine art production catering specifically to the film and advertising industries. Over the years, David has collaborated with artists such as Yoko Ono, Dieter Roth, David LaChapelle, Michel Gondry, and Mathew Barney.
A diverse range of feature film works include multiple action hero films, Paradise City starring John Travolta, the sci-fi adventure film Lumina, the award-winning Black Room and Casanova Was a Women; as well as the politically minded period piece Mu Xin- Dreaming against the World. David’s Television credits include Warner Brothers GOTHAM and the Netflix production of John Leguizamo’s Latin History for Morons—both nominated for Emmy awards. Studio work includes Paramount, Lionsgate, Warner Brothers and Netflix.
David films all over the world including New York, New Mexico, New Orleans, Georgia, Hawaii, Turkey, Morocco, and Mexico among other locations. He currently lives somewhere between New York and Los Angeles with his wife, two kids, and two cats.
David is a member of the Art Directors Guild.
